Working in collaboration with the Executive Director, this individual will be responsible for the oversight, strategic planning, execution and evaluation of all fundraising events, fundraising activities, donor relations, volunteer engagement and communications for the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing engagements and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue and current and prospective donors. Primary event responsibilities include the annual gala and other events that promote the public awareness of our mission. This person serves as a front-line employee who regularly interacts directly with donors and volunteers and represents Habitat for Humanity of Las Vegas in the community and works to ensure that they receive a positive safe and rewarding experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit and abide by Habitat for Humanity’s values, policies and procedures including integrity, collaboration, adaptability, accountability, punctuality, superior customer service and delivering excellence.
  • Develop and implement annual strategic fundraising plan and activities in the Las Vegas area, including individual and corporate gifts, annual Gala, events, business partnerships, annual planned giving strategy, grants, sponsorships etc.
  • Work with the Executive Director to meet/exceed annual fundraising targets, coordinate fundraising strategies, support ongoing major giving efforts, and develop new and innovative fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the annual communications plan which includes activities related to the organization’s media presence, communications, online fundraising campaigns and digital outreach programs through Habitat Website, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms as needed.
  • Create the annual community involvement plan and establish steps to achieve goals that inform, connect, and engage volunteers with our mission.
  • Initiate contacts and establish relationships and provide on-going follow-up with the Board of Directors, community organizations, businesses, clubs, civic groups, and academic community.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of relationships with approximately 40 donors.
  • Represent HFHLV at community meetings, general meetings, and special events, as needed.
  • Develop and cultivate professional relationships with potential and existing donors and proactively seek ways to engage them with our organization.
  • Research and identify current resource development and communication trends and implement a strategy to incorporate them HFHLV’s activities.
  • Meet and/or communicate with a minimum of 20 new prospects or donors per month which includes those engaged at various outreach events, volunteers, business partners, etc. to build relationships that transition into giving opportunities.
  • Seek opportunities to invite or accompany the Executive Director on visits with prominent prospects or high-value donors.
  • Responsible for the oversight and execution of all fundraising events and volunteer activities.
  • Collaborate with HFHI regarding branding/messaging and oversee local branding of materials, communications, and outreach to internal and external communities, including donors, volunteers, and sponsors.
  • Oversee all required office systems to support all volunteer, communications and donor-related projects and operations.
  • Working in conjunction with HFHLV’S grant writer, research potential donors and grantors, assist with writing grant applications, reports, and business information as needed.
  • Build long-term media relationships as well as develop and maintain media contacts to ensure positive and strong presence in the community.
  • Provide direction and oversight of all communication materials and mailings for direct marketing such as quarterly e-newsletter, planned e-appeals including year-end appeal letters.
  • Oversee designs and layout advertising, work with placement media regarding deadlines and advertisement specifications, as well as gaining appropriate partner approval.
  • Request donations for events and programs for our mission as needed.
  • Maintain and create benchmark and statistical reports that illustrate the impact of assigned activities and areas.
  • Oversee annual volunteer and donor appreciation events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • A minimum five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in fundraising for not-for-profits and working with donors and volunteers.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) and Constant Contact.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with various communication platforms including Website design, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
  • Experience with donor databases (Razors Edge, Donor Perfect, or other).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure without losing productivity or attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of event planning, event management, public relations and marketing principles.
  • Ability to work well not only as part of a small, dynamic team, but also independently.
  • Demonstrates strong judgment skills and attention to detail while meeting targeted deadlines.
  • Assesses the urgency and importance of situations and takes appropriate action.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters, is discrete and maintains a very high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to use all office machines. (fax, copy, cameras, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Professional telephone manner and interaction with individuals at all levels.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver license, clean DMV record, reliable personal vehicle, and liability insurance.
  • Must pass background screening and drug test.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
  • Must be able to continuously (67%-100% of the workday) and repeatedly use fingering/fine dexterity, wrist motion, flex wrist, grasp/squeeze, handling/gross dexterity, reach at shoulder or below, hear, talk, and sit.
  • Must be able to frequently (34% – 66% of the workday) reach above shoulder, stoop, kneel, balance, bend, twist body, walk and stand.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry push, or pull a minimum of 20lbs.
  • Occasionally (1-33% of the workday) required environmental conditions, dust, exposure to weather, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noises.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
